guidelines
Refer to the General Rules & Regulation and Judging
  1. All entries to be grown by exhibitor.
  2. Entry tag to be securely fastened to exhibit.
  3. Variety of vegetable, grain or flower to be listed on entry form.
  4. Paper plates will be provided for vegetable and grain displays.
  5. Exhibitors in flower classes to provide their own containers.
  6. Accredited judges provided by Alberta Horticultural Society.
  7. Any entry without age stated will go into the Adult Section.

Additional Guidelines:

Hay
  • Securely tied or bundle from large bale securely tied or netted
Grain
  • Grain exhibits to be a one quart sample. NO TREATED GRAIN.
Produce
  • Please put Variety on Entry Tags.
Flowers
  • In the interest of ecological preservation we are now offering Wild Flower classes in the Photography section.
  • Please measure flowers correctly and enter in correct class.
  • Count correct number of flowers per class. 

Definitions:

​Arrangement: A composition of colour, size and shape to produce a pleasing effect. Each unit is placed so that all of them together produce a pleasing effect.
Bouquet: A collection of favourite flowers in a container or vase, but neither arranged nor with stems tied together or affixed in oasis or similar medium.


Best of Show Rosettes will be presented by the Fair Committee in each of the following Sections:

YOUTH

YOUTH
This section is for ages 19 yrs and under. State age on entry. All the youth classes for entrants ages 13 to 19 are eligible for the Scholarship Award.
In the interest of ecological preservation of our wild flowers, we are now offering class 7-10-185, 7-10-410 and 7-10-640 (photographs of wild flowers) instead of actual bouquets of cut wild flowers.

More than one entry may be made in                         this class if they are distinctly different vegetables. Entries may be divided into additional classes if the number of entries warrant.

3-20-060   Dried Artistic Arrangement - dried plant material in container of exhibitor's choice
3-20-070   Coffee Club - an arrangement in a mug.
3-20-080   Arrangement - Blue and/or White Teacup with Saucer using only blue and white flowers and greenery.- not to exceed 8" in any direction.
3-20-090   "Sublime Simplicity", an arrangement featuring a single color combination of flower shapes, textures and arrangement in the vase of one's                          choice.
